Artist Statement

I created a frame by frame animation in Adobe Photoshop. I had the idea to create an animation based on the Lofi Girl animation on YouTube. I did this by hand drawing each frame in the animation then coloring and shading to achieve the desired effect. I started with creating the background and then placing a photo of the Hillsborough river I took behind the background layer to appear as if it was out of the window. Followed by creating the rough animation that I then created the character on top of it. After all of that I created a simple image of the river like it was in a picture frame where my animated tag brush is and followed by the credits and end card. 

           I wanted to really test my own ability with drawing to create a clean looking animation by hand. I probably should have done more in between frames to help make it smoother and less choppy along with changing of frame lengths to better create a realistic speed. I enjoyed the challenge this assignment presented me since I had just learned how to do this and this was the very first animation I ever created, but damn was it rewarding to see it all come together and look amazing was just awesome.
